Student Leadership
At Finham Park 2 we offer a range of exciting student leadership opportunities allowing students to drive positive change in their school. Our values of Pride, Respect, and Responsibility are embedded within the structure of our student leadership team, and the groups are named as such. Each group is made up of a Head Student, Deputy Head Student, and Prefect from year 12, an Assistant Head Student and a Deputy Prefect from year 10, and Junior Prefects and Student Councillors from key stage three.
Recruitment Process
Our student leadership recruitment process is designed to support students to develop employability skills. Sixth Form roles require an application form and a formal interview, and year 10 roles require an online application and an informal interview. Key stage three roles are allocated to elected students following a campaign.
Current Projects
As a whole, our student leadership group have raised money for Comic Relief, and are working with Coventry Foodbank. They also deliver assemblies, act as representatives for the wider student body, running mentor competitions, and periodically present to the Senior Leadership Team. In addition to this, each group develops their own projects:
- The Pride Group’s current priority is celebrating diversity and promoting representation of all members of our community. This year this has involved hosting our first FP2 iftar for students and families to break fast together during Ramadan, and hosting a culture day.
- The Respect Group’s current priority is ensuring our students have a positive experience. This year this has involved delivering a range of assemblies and hosting our Pride Month celebrations.
- The Responsibility Group’s current priority is to make FP2 more sustainable. This year this has involved launching a recycling project where bottle tops are collected by students and melted down in to plastic sheets to be used in technology lessons, and launching a uniform exchange.
