The government is providing funding to cover a one-off universal catch-up premium for the 2022-23 academic year.
Finham Park 2 will receive approx. £80,088 to support students in catching up made up of:
- National Tutoring Program – £30,132.00
- Recovery Premium – £49,956.00
Which Pupils?
Although funding is received on a per pupil basis, there are no specific requirements for who to spend it on. We will identify pupils and groups of pupils that will benefit most from the funding.
Activity / support Provision
The DfE recommends the following:
- Small group or 1-to-1 tuition
- Summer programmes to help re-engage pupils or extra teaching capacity from September
EEF 3 tiered approach:
- Teaching
- High-quality teaching for all
- Effective diagnostic assessment
- Focusing on professional development
- Targeted academic support
- High-quality one to one and small group tuition
- Teaching Assistants and targeted support
- Planning for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Wider strategies − Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Planning carefully for adopting a SEL curriculum
- Communicating with and supporting parents/ carers
- Supporting parents/ carers with pupils of different ages
- Successful implementation in challenging times
We welcome the additional funding to support pupils in catching up their missed education due to Covid 19. We have taken a bespoke approach to the use of this funding, based upon educational research and best practice recommended by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF).
